In the Pursuit of Happy-ness

Heyya!

Well, as predicted, i've managed to lapse into my own little world and forgot to update this dusty old blog. But fate has a way of putting things back in perspective, apparently. A few days ago, i watched Julie & Julia on Astro. Though i was sleepy beyond reason, i told myself to pay attention because this movie was an Oscar-nominated movie (or was it an Oscar-winning movie? i forget) and the fact that it stars Meryl Streep is just something that would be incredibly stupid for me to miss.

It's basically a story about a down and out woman who seems to have lost herself and her zest for life being stuck in a dead-end job and having friends living her dreams with loads of money at their disposal (hello, sounds familiar??). She then found out one of those friends of hers, a journalist who shared her childhood dreams of being a writer and actually achieved that dream while she didn't, was writing a blog about herself and her adventures of singlehood. Jealous, she raved about it to her husband, who suggested she do the same. The question is, what would she write about??

Finally, she decided to write about what makes her happiest the most -- cooking. She came up with a brilliant plan, to cook each and every recipe in her idol chef's cookbook, Julia Child, in just one year. Now, this was no easy task, given that the book has about 500+ recipes and there's only 365 days in a year, not to mention having to keep a full-time job and a marriage.

In the end, by sticking to her resolve, she reached her target, learned to master french cooking, received countless book offers and writing jobs and even made it as a small-time celebrity in the newspapers. But most of all, she discovered herself, and ultimately her happiness. Now, isn't that the most wondrous thing? To find happiness within yourself and the life you have? I know plenty of friends who are still trying to achieve that. In fact, I am one of them. How many times have we actually come home from work, exhausted, and whining about what a lousy day we had? How many of us can actually admit to ourselves, that we are happy just the way we are, and with what we have?

It is basic human nature to want more things, better life, more money. It's ambition. It's drive. It's sometimes called greed. But i think this is part and parcel of being human. Wanting. But at some point, we've got to stop and say: Hey... i AM happy. I DONT need more stuff in my life. I just need ME to be happy. Isn't that just the best kind of happiness we can achieve, really?

Anyhoo, i'm rambling. All i'm saying is, i was inspired by that movie. In fact, i was inpired with the search of happiness even before watching Julie & Julia that night. A few months ago, I was reading this book called Eat, Pray, Love.... OK, i'll be honest. I saw the movie about to be launched in KL and i went helter skelter trying to find the book and finish it before catching it at the cinema. I just LOVE books that make it to the big screen. There's something about reading it and watching it on the silver screen that gives me a certain satisfaction -- as if i'm part of the story too. Not to mention the perk of being a know-it-all by saying: Hey, the movie was good, but the book was WAY better. It normally is.

So back to the book/movie Eat, Pray, Love. It's actually an autobiography, and a damn good one too. I guess that fact kinda makes it even more interesting, reading somebody's life in a book, their decisions and misadventures along the way and learning from their mistakes. I wont tell u what the book/movie is about, because that will make this entry just wayyyy to dragging. But what i've learned from it is, you need to have courage to make decisions in your life, because you are responsible for each and every one of them, and hence, your own happiness. No one and nothing in this world can make YOU happy. That job and luxury, my friends... is yours and yours ALONE.

Oh and for the record... the book WAS way better than the movie.. haha. But i do love the fact that it tried as much as possible to stick to the actual story of Elizabeth Gilbert's life. And could Javier Bardem BE any hotter? What is it about Spanish men that makes women swoon??Seriously.

Well, i think that's enough self-indulgent rambling for today. My eyes are starting to water, and its not from sleepiness, but a case of conjunctivitis, on a weekend no less. Go figure! I had all these plans and things to do this weekend that went down the drain because of this eye thing. Oh well, I guess God has better plans for me, and keeping to the spirit of being happy with what I have, it turns out this eye infection had been for a good reason after all. I got to sleep in the evening (which i never get to do, having a spirited 3-year old and a 1001 things to do) and have some actual REST after a hard week at work and just before the final sprint to finish a report that's due next friday (God help me! huhu). That, and having a real gem of a husband that actually lets me get the rest i need. I'm looking for my silver lining, even with blurry vision, wherever i can. At least, that's what i can do for myself for now.

Man, it sure is dusty in here... No surprise there, since its been over a year (i think!) since i've last updated anything in my blog. Movie Review: The Ugly Truth

Wazzzupppp!

Yeah i know its been ages since my last entry but as you all know, Raya month can be preddy hectic what with all the open houses, entertaining guests, cooking up a storm and all... I'll get into that in my next entry, but for now, I think i'll put up a movie review just for kicks... Yes, I know its been longgg overdue, and my previous promise to review Benjamin Button has never seen the light of day, but i can only do what I can, and at the moment, this is what you'll get!

The Ugly Truth

OK, I'll be perfectly honest. The main reason I wanted to see this movie was because of Gerard Butler. Remember the hunk with the thunder thighs and washboard abs on 300? Yeah, that's him. The fact that The Ugly Truth came out just a month after I saw him play a charming and sweet hubby in P.S. I Love You on Astro only fired my determination (and infatuation) further. Katherine Heigl is also one of my fave actresses, esp when she plays a neurotic and clueless girl (ie. 27 Dresses). Plus, I'm a sucker for romantic comedies (or romcoms as the critics would call it) and chick flicks so this movie was definitely a must-watch in my books... hehe.

I managed to get my sister to babysit Deena while me n hubster went for this movie. My hubby wasn't too thrilled to watch a chick flick but went with me anywayz (the sweetie :P). Then when he saw that Gerard Butler was one of the main characters, he rolled his eyes at me and said: "No wonder you wanted to see this so much!" Yeah, he knows I have a thing for Gerry. hehe :P

Basically, the story is about a control freak morning show producer, Abby (Heigl) who is forced to work with an uncouth and sexist host, Mike (Butler) to boost ratings. She hates his guts and he just loves to taunt her. When she falls in love with her hot new neighbour and being her usual self was not an option, she asks for Mike's advice. Things began to go hilariously well until, as you can probably guess, Mike falls for her. Preddy cliche', i know. But don't let the synopsis fool you!

The movie started preddy predictably, the girl's sad life story, girl meets guy, girl hates guy, same ol' same ol'. But as the story unfolds, i began to realize... that this movie is really NOT a chick flick, but more of a JOCK FLICK. Lewd comments were aplenty, naughty jokes everywhere, suggestive antics were frequent and unabashedly displayed, and loads and loads of sexy bimbos throwing themselves at the cute line-up of guys in this movie.

At first, i was apalled by the first few sexist remarks that Gerry made in this movie. But after awhile, i realized... that it IS the ugly truth about men and women, at least in general anyway. It was definitely an eye-opener! When i finally came to terms with that and opened my mind abit, i began to enjoy this movie and all its crass humour. Some were downright hilarious, i almost guffawed out loud! But the rest of the cinema hall were practically laughing off their seats so I don't think it would matter anyway.

Although most of the movie was preddy physical and and comedic, it wasn't without its tender moments. Lewd jokes and embarassing moments aside, there were still some real emotions involved and a lesson to be learned from it all -- That no matter how hard we try to define ourselves or change ourselves to get what we want, in the end, it wont matter because we are who we are, and to find true love you need to find somebody who is willing to see past your idiosyncracies and love you anyway.

Katherine & Gerry's acting were great, they have great on-screen chemistry. I have a feeling that Gerry's gonna be the next Hugh Jackman if he keeps up with his versatile acting and good choices of characters. The script was sexy and witty and the storyline has enough sexiness and cuteness to make it worth watching. Even if it does remind me abit of 'Someone Like You' starred by Hugh Jackman and Ashley Judd. This movie is a definite scorer for a date movie, as it has everything for both guys and gals alike.

Among all the naughty and cute quotes in the movie, one of my favourite snippets would be the argument the two of them had on a hot-air balloon that goes something like this:

Abby: So, you love me? Why?
Mike: Beats the hell outta me! But I do.

Why is it my favourite, you may ask? Well, only my hubby knows. hehe. *wink wink*

All in all, I really liked this movie. I wouldn't mind watching it again, given the chance... and best of all, even my hubby liked it, and that's very VERY rare indeed! I guess its because we can relate to the characters and understand what its like to be in love with someone who's less than perfect... ;)

After some major points on humour and hotness factor; minus some points for cliche'-ness, I will give this movie:

RaveFactor: 3.5/5!

As I've mentioned in my previous post, I've been lucky enough to catch some great movies at the cinemas lately... so my next review will be of the much hyped about blockbuster.. (girls hold on to your knickers! haha) X-Men Origins: Wolverine!

WARNING: Movie Spoiler Haters can stop reading from here onwards.. :P

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

OK... to write a review about this movie and not be blindsided by the HUGE eye-candy factor would be hypocritical. I mean, let's be honest here, shall we? How many of you can honestly say you're interested to watch this movie purely based on the storyline eh? We already know that this movie is pretty much a story about Wolverine's mysterious past, how he got his adamantium claws and how he lost his memory (hence the title "ORIGINS")... And even if you didn't know that's what this whole movie is about, if you've seen the previous X-Men trilogies, you would kinda get the picture. So why would you need to watch THIS movie then?

Well... if the eye-candy factor doesn't do it for ya.. then perhaps the long list of popular-but-not-yet-filmed mutant characters would. Wonder what Gambit, Sabertooth, Cyclops and Deadpool looked like when they were younger and bits and pieces of their stories? Well, you'll get all those questions answered in this movie. Oh and did i tell you they were all yummy-licious too? Even the baddies were uber-sexy.. Hehe.

The storyline to the latest X-Men edition is pretty good, well-rounded and smooth-flowing. It preddy much answers all the questions you ever wondered about Wolverine, even the reason of his obsession with Jean-Grey in the earlier X-Men movies. I was slightly disappointed to find that the reason for his torturous experiment as weapon X was kinda cliche'.. However, Wolverine's love-hate relationship with his arch nemesis Sabertooth makes up for all the predictablities in this movie. Their fight scenes exhibit raw, primal power that the previous intallments of X-Men failed to portray.

The cinematography is excellent! I especially loved the beginning part... where they showed how Wolverine & Sabertooth grew up. Artistic and action-packed! The CGIs were superb too. The sceneries were breathtaking.. imagine lush greeneries at the foot of a mountain.. with a glassy lake beyond and the perfectly sculpted form of Hugh Jackman streaking across the field in his birthday suit... hahaha. The actors' performances were great -- Hugh Jackman especially ( and no, I'm not just saying that becoz he looks good with his shirt off, ok? Gimme some credit lar.. huhu). He not only manages to portray raw animal magnetism, but also his vulnerability, that makes him THAT much more appealing. Ryan Reynolds reprises the usual (albeit short-lived) sarcastic-motor-mouth character he always plays in his previous movies, and Liev Schreiber was simply beastly (in a good way!). The only character I'm not raving about is Stryker... he just seemed to lack that evil edge for me. His predictable dialogue did not help much either!

So all in all, this movie is 2-thumbs-up-worthy for me. It has everything -- Action-packed for the guys and Hottie-packed for the ladies. It also does justice to the original comic, methinks... but then again, I'm not that much of a comics person so I can just tell you what I know. Die-hard X-Men fans may object, but hey... its MY blog so i can write whatever i darned well please.. haha!

The only downside to this movie for me is probably all the hype going on about it. You expect it to be super awesome and perfect, and when certain parts of it came up short, you get way too disappointed. And having a die-hard wolverine addict as a sister is no help either! Huhu. Comparatively, Star Trek for example, I went in with low expectations, and so when it exceeded what I had imagined it would be like, it seems much better than Wolverine. Truth be told, it would be unfair to compare these 2 movies as they are both different and unique, but one can't help it, esp if you watched both movies within the same week!

So I'm just gonna rate this movie based on its merits and TRY not to base it on comparison to other movies:

To those who have yet to catch this delish movie... a word of advice, if you please...

Girls: If you plan to ogle yummy Mr Jackman, DON'T go with your hubby/fiancee/boyfriend... it will be preddy awkward! Go with you gal pals instead... this makes a perfect girls-day-out movie (a change from all the usual chick-flicks, surely). And bring plenty of tissues to wipe off your drools.. As a precautionary measure, bring along some smelling salts too! Just in case you swoon from watching too much eye-candy.. hahaha

Guys: If you wanna focus on the action, go with the guys. At least you get to focus on the gritty fights and awesome characters properly without having to endure your gal's dreamy sighs and girly giggles... hahaha

Halluuu!!!

Since tudung and perfume orders have simmered down quite abit since last week, I had time to spruce up my blog... did abit of renovating here and there.. Nothing much, just changed the look abit, as you may have noticed. Somebody mentioned to me that I have a good blog, but it looked abit boring so... here's my attempt to beautify it. Mind you, I'm really crap at programming and what not, so this is the best that I can figure out... so far.

Anyway, while reading my own blog (yeah, i do read my own stuff :P), I noticed that it's been awhile since I last wrote a review! And since I've been to quite a few movies in the past few weeks, I think now is as good a time as any to review those movies.. So here goes the first one!

CAUTION: Those who hate movie spoilers, prefer to watch the movie themselves and make their own conclusions, DON'T bother reading any further.. in fact, RUN!!!

STAR TREK

I went to the movie premier last Tuesday (5th May) at Cathay Cineleisure Damansara... That's 3 days before the official screening ya! I was one of the few lucky readers of my online friend, Miu's blog to be invited to catch the sneak preview (thanx so much, Miu!!!)... Boy, did i feel lucky! I was checking my watch every few minutes while waiting for office hours to end so I can rush back home and get ready for this much awaited outing.. hehe!

To be completely honest, I was abit skeptical about this movie. First off, I was never a Star Trek fan/Trekkie/Trekker. Ever. In fact, I was so NOT a sci fi fan that I wouldnt be able to tell the difference between a time warp and time travelling. And if the movie was anything like the original TV series.. I was prepared for some serious shut-eye. Of course, I WAS still the curious cat.. so a movie remake was definitely up there on my wonder list.

So me and hubby arrived at Cineleisure and collected our tix from Miu. I've never met her in person before... and I must say she's as bubbly as her blog persona. Too bad the common hall of the cinema was too packed and noisy so we couldn't really chat that much. I just went ahead and bought some tidbits, went straight to the movie usher's counter and deposited my handphone (this is a norm for movie premiers... don't wanna have a yet-to-be-released movied leaked, right?)

As the lights dimmed and the trailers ended, the much awaited movie started to roll. Miu did remind us NOT to miss the awesome beginning, so I was eager for the movie to start. And when it did, it did not disappoint.

So imagine this: A sci-fi series created some 20-30 years ago, with special effects that were state-of the-art back then. Now, take the same idea and concept, inject some 21st century CGIs and computer graphics and voila! You've got one helluva opening act! To those not in the know, this Star Trek movie is basically a prologue of the popular TV series.. the very beginning of Star Trek. Most of the story is a character build-up.. it pretty much tells you how the 2 key Star Trek characters started out.. from Captain Kirk & Spock's parents, Kirk & Spock's childhood and how they ended up on the maiden voyage of Starfleet Enterprise. There were loadsa action, tonnes of exciting special effects and most importantly, plenty of sarcasm and humour which i liked.

Here's the rough outline of the story:

Kirk, a newbie recruit who got onto the Enterprise by sheer friendship loyalty and not merit, (well, he was kind of a pain-in-the-arse) and somehow got to be part of Starfleet's rescue mission to aide the Vulcans (the alien race with pointy ears and sky high eyebrows.. ie: Spock) planet beseiged by a Romulan (another alien race) starship. However, he proved to be useful when he figured out they were walking right into a trap. Much warping and battle scenes ensued, and the audience finds out that the whole battle was an act of revenge (isn't it always?? huhu). Kirk, who initially despises Spock and vice versa, finally teamed up and they finally manage to save the world and universe (hey, you don't want me to tell you the WHOLE story, do you??).

As interesting as the storyline is, that's not what had me hooked. It's the characters. I mean, check out the photo above. If you've seen the Star Trek series before, you will definitely notice.. the resemblance to the original cast is UNCANNY! And i'm not just talking about looks here, ok? Its also the mannerism of each characters. From Kirk's fearless leadership.. to Spock's inner conflict of emotions, Bones's grumpiness, and even Scotty's tongue-in-cheek humour. For a non-trekkie, I would say the current cast of Star Trek's portrayal of the original character was definitely spot on!

So all in all, I would say that the latest edition of Star Trek has successfully converted me to a fan. The movie's storyline was great, the stellar cast's acting were fabulous and the effects were awesome. It has plenty of action, great dialogue, humour and a few sad moments. What's not to like? Most importantly, it exceeded my expectations by a mile! That alone should be a good enough reason for you to check this movie out... hehe.

Note: FYI, Eric Bana (as in Troy & The Incredible Hulk) is in this movie! Watch the movie and try to guess who he is!

There is only 1 exclusive piece per design per colour available. However, if there are special requests for a second piece of a tudung design that has already been reserved/taken, please allow me a few days (or perhaps weeks!) to find out if I can fulfill your request.
Each tudung is priced at a brand new price of RM32 a piece!
RM2 from each tudung purchase shall be collected and donated to a Gaza Relief Fund of my choice. So you're not only updating your wardrobe, but doing so for a worthy cause!
Items may be collected from me personally or delivered to your doorstep via PosLaju. Postage fees will be borne by the purchaser.
Each tudung may only be reserved for a maximum of 1 week only. If no payment has been made within the said time limit, the tudung will be re-open for public purchase.

Hello again!

Ok ok i knowww this is not the much awaited pix of the March Edition Pesona Tudungs, but i got a request from my online fren Miu for a review on Juno. As you may have read in my previous entry about Juno's soundtrack, I think the world of this movie. It is ama-Zing, with a capital Z. Hehe.

So basically the movie is about teenage pregnancy in the US and and the effects it has on her and the people around her. The trailer didn't quite make me wanna watch it, but after seeing all the Oscar nominations this movie got, it kinda caught my eye. And after watching it for the first time, i was hooked! Just the animated intro of the movie had me hook, line and sinker.

As a whole, it's a very straight forward movie. Simple, unpretentious. No melodramatic scenes of breaking down like there's no tomorrow when she found out that she was pregnant. I guess that's one of the things that caught my attention in the first place. How nonchalant and cavalier this girl Juno can be when the world she knows will be changed forever by her pregnancy. If you were faced with such a predicament, i'm guessing you gotta be one helluva strong-willed gal to take such an ordeal in stride.

Well that's what this movie is all about really. A young girl with an iron will and laid back attitude going through an unwanted pregnancy. I'm sure you've prolly seen a movie with a similar storyline, but let me tell ya, you have never seen one with such fantastic dialogues! I mean, the script to this movie is everything. Its the main reason why i love this movie so much. But then i've always been a sucker for movies with great scripts.. hehe.

Here are some quotes from the movie that I find is so refreshingly hilarious and one-of-a-kind:

Juno: [On her birth mom's abandonment] Oh, and she inexplicably mails me a cactus every Valentine's Day. And I'm like, "Thanks a heap coyote ugly. This cactus-gram stings even worse than your abandonment."

Juno: Can I use the facilities? Because being pregnant makes me pee like Seabiscuit!

Mac (Juno's Dad): [a very pregnant Juno enters the room] Hey there, big puffy version of Junebug!

Juno: As far as boyfriends go, Paulie Bleeker is totally boss. He is the cheese to my macaroni.

Bren (Juno's Stepmom): [comeback to an ultrasound technician's holier-than-thou remark] My five-year-old daughter could do that, and let me tell you, she is not the brightest bulb in the tanning bed, so why don't you go back to night school in Mankato and learn a real trade?

Juno: [yelling through the house] Dad?
Mac: What?
Juno: Either I just peed my pants or um...
Mac: *Or*...??
Juno: THUNDERCATS ARE GO!

Of course, besides the fab script, the acting was impeccable. Ellen Page could not have done a better job. Her co-stars were all great, too, and its no surprise since most of 'em are well-known for their comedic acts in sitcoms and such. The soundtrack to this movie is absolutely fitting. Juvenile, funny lyrics and simplistic acoustic music is the main ingredient in most of the songs listed in its soundtrack, all from non-mainstream acts.

So if you've not seen the movie... PLEASE do! I give it 20 thumbs and fingers up.. hehe. And rest assured that even though its a comedy, it is not without any drama or poignant moments to complete the movie.

Spoiler Alert: Be ready with a hanky when you see Bleeker holding Juno while she cries in the hospital bed.

Halooo!

I was watching Juno on Astro (again) today. It was (again) unmistakably AMAZING... but I guess those who've seen it already knows this. Those who haven't... please please PLEASE catch it on Astro. Even though quite abit of the dialogues were censored out, this doesn't totally damage the effect Juno's dialogues (and often monologues) has on the audience (me especially). Witty, funny, sarcastic... ahh... me likey.

But I'm not gonna write about Juno tonight. No, tonight, I'm gonna tell you about one of the most significant songs in the movie soundtrack. If you've seen the movie, you will notice that this is the song Juno and Bleeker sang at the end of the movie.. you know, at Bleeker's front steps? I absolutely LOVE this song, so much so that everytime I finish watching Juno, i feel like going online just to watch the song's videoclip on YouTube.

It has a catchy tone, simple acoustic guitar music, selamba-ish singing... and the lyrics will make you wanna laugh and feel the warm fuzzies all at once. Don't believe me? Here's the lyrics for ya:

Sweet? Funny? Wait till you hear the actual song itself... feel free to search for it on YouTube okie! After watching Juno at the movies for the first time, this song got stuck in my head like glue. I just couldnt stop playing it over and over! I know the lyrics may seem kinda juvenile and plain absurd, but somehow the message kinda comes through -- that no matter how weird or unappealing we are to the rest of the world, to your significant other, you mean the world. Despite the wacky delivery of the song... it is still, ultimately, a love song. An unconventional one, but a love song nonetheless.

But hey, that's just me... I like different. I find songs like these are like a breath of fresh air after all the Celine Dions and Brian McKnights... not that they're not nice though. But every once in a while a change would do all of us some good, right?

New Mall In Town!

Heyya!

Ok so i think its time to take a break from all the tudung business for a sec... and slip in a lil review... I've not been to many new places lately, but after visiting my friend Iqa in confinement 2 weekends ago me n Hubster decided to check out the newest mall in town -- Tropicana City Mall. It's located right at the corner of LDP and NKVE, and although it's not fully completed, the mall is up and running and attracting a considerable amount of shoppers.

We first went straight to the information desk. You can actually tell alot about a mall by its information desk's service. And for a small new mall, i must say that this mall is starting their operations with a good start. First of all, they have all the basic facilities that a mall should provide: Wheelchairs, baby strollers and a concise mall directory. Although the amount of wheelchairs and strollers are abismal, but it's definitely better than nothing, right? Since we didn't bring our Deena's stroller for this outing, we decided to use theirs. After filling up the necessary paperwork, lo and behold -- a bright red MacLaren stroller was rolled out from behind the counter. MacLaren?!?! Wow. Even the huge Sunway Pyramid uses Sweet Cherry.. huhu.

So after checking out some of the colourful booths on the ground floor, we decided to have a very early dinner at Pho Hoa. For those who's never heard of this restaurant, it serves huge bowls of delicious noodle soup with various parts of beef such as steaks, flanks and "perut" as condiments. And lemme tell ya... the meat are SO tender! Those of you who love soups should really have a go at this restaurant. It has a rather nice asian ambience, too! After eating our fill we managed to snap a couple of pix...

Two sisters. The one in red is gonna fly off to Sydney for studies end of this month so we're hogging her time to the max! Hehe

After we were full to the brim, we decided to window shop! The retail tenants were preddy good in TCM. There's Carrefour, Borders, Esprit, Nichii... just to name a few. The food outlets are nice too -- there's Kenny Rogers, Pho Hoa, Starbucks and this new place (well new to me anywayz) called BadAss Coffee. Will definitely go there one day!

Some of us had to answer nature's call, so it was a good time to check out the loos... and boy, were they fabulous! Wood panelled stall doors and chic washbasins? Almost hotel material, i reckon. The only downside is the lack of diaper changing facilities in the women's washroom. We followed the "baby room" signs, hoping to find a cool, excellently furnished room for diaper changing and breastfeeding.. only to find that it wasn't done yet! Looking in from the glass doors, we could see a diaper table and possibly panels for a sink and a breastfeeding room, but the rest were preddy much rubble and cement so I really cant say how good it's gonna be. But rest assured that I shall come again to check it out! (Aida: How's this for a baby room report? hehe)

After much walking around (well actually running around chasing after Deena who refuses to sit in the stroller for long), we went into my new fave boutique -- Kitschen. They have funky tees and blouses there! I got carried away with trying out one too many shirts so Hubster entertained our lil munchkin while waiting for me. And this is the result:

After much window shopping, i ended up buying something from Nichii instead, haha. Oh well, at least i found a long tee with long sleeves, which is virtually impossible considering my not-so-flattering figure... huhu. After that, Deena started her "whining" machine so that means we had to leave for home. I went home satisfied coz I have discovered yet another haunt that's not too far from home... What can i say? I'm a shopaholic to the core... hehehe.

So after my first visit to TCM, i would have to give it:

Alternative Style for Pesona Tudung

Hello again!

For those of you who feel that the tudung you have is abit on the longer side, this is a style that may solve your "unruly" tudung problems. Those of you who are petite may also use this style as the tudung would surely be abit longer on you on account of your smaller face and body frame. For those who are abit "cuter" may find this style handy when the tudung your have come a tad too short and cant be slipped in under your chin. Happy experimenting!

STEP 1: As per previous entry, place the awning over the top of your head and pin the tudung underneath your chin.

STEP 2: Pull the longer part of the tudung to your right and pull upwards.

STEP 3: Continue to pull the tudung neatly over the top of your head and downwards to your left cheek.

STEP 4: Pin the tudung at the left side of your cheek as per photo carefully. You don't have to slip the end of the tudung underneath your chin for this style.

STEP 5: Pull the shorter part of the tudung to your left shoulder and secure it with a brooch.

Pesona Tudung Tutorial

Hi!

I've received several requests to upload a "Tudung Tutorial"... one that would teach you how to wear the Pesona Tudung i'm selling. To be honest, I'm no pro in wearing them either, but i can give the basic guidelines on how to wear them. And though it may appear detailed, it is up to the wearer herself to fold and wrap the tudung nicely and neatly to suit her face shape and most importantly, comfort. Anyway, hope this helps!

STEP 1: Place the "awning" on the top of your head as per photo. The longer part of the tudung should be on your left while the shorter part on your right.

STEP 2: Pin the tudung underneath your chin. Adjust to your own comfort.

STEP 3: Pull the longer part of the tudung across your chest and to your right, pulling it upwards.

STEP 4: Continue to pull the longer part of the tudung over the top of your head and downwards towards the left side of your face, securing it neatly and firmly.

STEP 5: Slip in the end of the tudung underneath your chin. You may secure it further with a brooch if you so wish.

STEP 6: Now take the shorter side of the tudung on your right and pull it towards your left shoulder.

STEP 7: Arrange the folds of the tudung to your taste and secure it with another brooch on your left shoulder.

RESULT

Hellooooo lovely readers!

Can ya tell it's my first blog in blogspot, can ya?? Hehe... that obvious, huh? Ah well, I figured its time to drop my ol' friendster blog coz its starting to attract spammers anywayz. How they got hold of my id, i have no idea. Ah well, c'est la vie!

So here I am, attempting to start my very own review blog about anything and everything. Yes, you read that right... reviews.
